I really like his hardtop with the solar cells.
The fittings for the boom did vanish out of the cockpit. The bracket needs to withstand also that additional pressure.
Now the sun is off the cockpit and on the solar panels.
When it comes to long distance cruising, that's the solution!
Most PS-48 have a BF35 compressor for the comfortable, large fridge.
Last Summer I experienced performance problems with the fridge.
I did assume the coolant pipes got leaky and I lost pressure in the system.
Luckily next day I had an expert with gas pressure equipment on bord and we tested the pressure OK, ditched it up with a refill and now the system is like new.
However, Philipp did supply me with some useful info about tuning the compressor:
Both of my WCs are below the waterline and have valves on the inlet.
These valves need to be closed as water rinse in. Not much, but steadily and permanently.
If someone would forget to close the valve, which already happened twice to my wife, the disaster is not far.
I checked with my friend about his setup on an older PS. His installation is accurate with a syphonium.
We are Henk and Sara and living in The Netherlands, we are the new lucky owners of a 40PS from 2002, hull #020. The boat is currently on the hard in Belgium and we are preparing here to be launched asap and bring her to our home port in Zeeland. We are exploring the Baltic, French and French coastal waters during the summers.
Our boat is in general acceptable condition. We consider to replace the teakdeck somewhere in the next 2-3 year with flexiteak. But I have to track down some leaks in various spots first
Looking forward to exchange experience with you all.
Keep quality, price down. With the new Wauquiez in the attractive 40ft size the French yacht aims for ambitious goals.
**The Trend Toward Deckhouse Remains Unbroken**
The trend toward deckhouses seems unbroken, with hardly a shipyard willing to forego models with raised structures in their product lineup above the 35-foot mark. While major series manufacturers have only embraced this trend in recent years, smaller operations have long upheld this tradition. This is also true for the Wauquiez shipyard in France, which, although now part of the Bénéteau Group alongside Jeanneau, Lagoon, and CNB, has managed to retain its unique characteristics within the group and in the market in general. Wauquiez builds ships with the so-called Pilot Saloon. This is not just a larger structure that allows more light into the ship but a raised saloon that offers a view outside even when seated. To accommodate the spacious panoramic seating area behind the mast, the ships are equipped with an aft cockpit...
