My previous Lofrans winch was a Tigres, mounted as deck winch in the wrong place: under deck. -

Now the Lofrans winch on my PS works marvelous!

Hi there, 

Else & Pascal (Belgium, but i work in Kopenhagen) here in our 2001 PS43 #30 lying in the med. (Roda de Bara)
Bought in Marseille,  port Napoléon 9 months ago.
So still a lot to learn. 

Planning to strip and antifaul our hull, service the Yanmar and fix the Fisher panda in March and discover the Balearic this summer with the 2 of us.

There is another PS43 not far from here,  Inish,  in Segur de Callafel.

This looks like a great initiative, I have through the years struggled to find material and information on the PS.

I bought my 2001 PS43 in 2021 and sailed her down the Norwegian coast from Tromsø to Oslo, which was a great experience, particularly since this was during the Corona times so it was mostly solo (https://youtu.be/9r41kaKzSHQ). The previous owner bought the boat in France and sailed her to Norway the long way around the UK. I mainly sail around the Norwegian and Swedish coast and North Sea crossings to the Netherlands.

I look forward to contribute and learn from other PS owners!

Interesting detail:

My PS48 has a starboard aft cabin with just one bunk. The other one above was removed by the previous owner.
Originally, there should be two bunks on the side.

I need to reestablish that second bunk and it would be great, if someone could supply me with some foto details of the mounting as well as dimensions.

Philipp sandte mir ein Bild von seinem defekten Diesel- oder Wassertanksensor.

Ich suchte etwas mit den aufgedruckten Nummern herum und glaube im aktuellen (Stand ~2024) VDO Katalog etwas Passendes gefunden zu haben.

Auf Seite 84 (Anschlussart IV) könnte gut passen.

Mit etwas Glück ist der Lochausschnitt und die Bohrungen nach SAE genormt und man kann auch alternative Tanksensoren von beispielsweise KUS (Busse Yachtshop oder SVB) verbauen.

Wichtig ist der Messbereich. Es gibt hier europäische (10-180 Ohm), amerikanische (240-33 Ohm) und japanische (0-310 Ohm) Normierungen.

Der VDO könnte also im 10 - 180 Ohm Bereich liegen, doch besser nachmessen!

Hinweis: Bei mir sind im Motorpanel zwei Dieseltankanzeigen verbaut. Die für den Zusatztank passt nicht zu dem Geber dieses Tanks. Bei vollem Tank zeigt die Anzeige lediglich 3/4 an und das kostete mich eine super ärgerliche Schramme im Gelcoat.
Warum? - Nun, ich wollte in dem Irrglauben volltanken und es wäre ja faktisch garnicht nötig gewesen. Alles war für Steuerbord anlegen vorbereitet, doch der Tankwart bestand auf ein Anlegen an der anderen Molenseite.
Also nur zu zweit alle Fender und Festmacherleinen rüber. Hektik da lange Warteschlange am Samstag an der Tanke und das Beiboot vergessen! Das wurde dann vom laufenden Propeller unters Heck gezogen. Bumm?⛈! Der Motor war fest und bei stark auflandigen Wind trieben wir auf die Mole.
Viele halfen mit beim Drücken, doch eine Dicke Verschraubung an der Pier suchte Kontakt zum Gelcoat.

Ich hätte schreien können und ich glaube ich habs auch getan.

Also werde ich auch meinen Tanksensor und die Tankanzeige synchronisieren müssen.
Dem Philipp müssen wir noch einen passenden Sensor aussuchen. Vielleicht gibt es dazu dann an dieser Stelle noch weitere Details.
